The Language Guide
¡Buen Camino! is a practical Spanish language guide which helps pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela or volunteers in Spanish albergues to communicate with the local people or with Spanish speaking (fellow) pilgrims.
Whether you walk to Santiago or do your pilgrimage by bike or whether you are volunteering for a few weeks in an albergue, some basic knowledge of the pilgrim terminology will certainly be helpful to you. In this language guide attention is paid to 15 different themes, such as registering in an albergue, ordering a meal in a restaurant, asking for directions, having your bike repaired or accompanying a
sick pilgrim to a doctor.
This language guide includes audio exercises which are accessible online through a QR code included in the language guide.
This exercise book complements ¡Buen Camino!, the Spanish language guide for pilgrims and hospitaleros.
Whether you go on pilgrimage on foot or by bike, ¡Buen Camino! will help you on your way. You will be able to introduce yourself, to ask for directions, check in at an albergue or hotel, exchange information about the landscape and climate, order a meal in a restaurant or shop for groceries in the local shops and supermarkets. If
necessary, you can ask for materials from the bicycle repair shop, or ask the doctor for advice, and at the end of your stay, you can take the bus, train or plane back home without language problems.
This exercise book contains more than 90 exercises that match the content of the language guide with audio exercises Buen Camino!. It can be used for self-study as well as for Spanish lessons in small groups.
