Santiago de Compostela is a well known destination for pilgrims from all over the world. Finding a place to sleep in the summer months, can be a bit tricky especially if you have not reserved a room beforehand. Santiago has a wide range of types of lodging. From public albergues where you sleep in rooms of 20 or more, to the best 5-star hotel that has thousands of years of history. My recommendations below are a few hotels that I like, in two categories. For those on a budget, and for those wanting to splurge a little bit. You might be surprised what a good deal some of these hotels are, especially if you are used to northern european/american prices.
